Adding to Our Family

We'll be adding another member to our family in August--a boy!

His name is Dong Joo and he is from South Korea. We're going to share our home with another exchange student, which is something our whole family enjoys. I suppose we are a little crazy to do so--our house is already chaos at times--but we like to keep life interesting. He'll be sharing a room with Alex and I hope they will be good friends. It is so much fun to share our home and our culture. I remember the first time Grace saw snow. She ran out and started taking pictures. It was funny because it wasn't even enough to turn the ground white. Fortunately, she got her fill of the fluffy white stuff.
Of course we'll have to take a trip to the Mall of America. I'm not a big fan of the place, but it is a "must see" while in Minnesota.
Another highlight for most students is a chance to ride on the big yellow school bus, something that they have only seen in movies. I also remember Grace asking how much it cost to ride the bus, and then her astonished look when I told her it was FREE!

If you have ever considered hosting a student, I highly recommend going through the EF Foundation. They do an excellent job of matching students with families and following up throughout the year. www.effoundation.org It is such a rewarding experience for both the student and the family! I suppose that is why we are doing it again--our third time! Feel free to contact me if you have questions.
